Early Life

"Todo en la vida se puede: Everything in life is achievable." These words from my mother shaped my outlook from childhood. As the eldest of four siblings raised by a single mother, I learned early that life wasn't always fair. Despite facing housing and food insecurities, my mother always found ways to provide, making our family feel secure. Determined to honor my mother's sacrifices, I chose to dedicate himself to creating a better community. I attended Ohio Wesleyan University, where I led initiatives like raising awareness about sexual assault and domestic violence as a Sexual Assault Response Network Volunteer (SARN).

Call to Action

After losing my mother to breast cancer in 2017, I further strengthened my resolve to better our community. In 2018, as a Community Organizer for People Acting in Community Together (PACT), I advocated for policies like AB 392 and SB 1421 to protect BIPOC members from excessive force. Fought for tenant protections by co-leading a voter engagement campaign to pass legislation which would have allowed cities the authority to enact rent-control on residential properties. I also served as a dispatcher for the Rapid Response Network of Silicon Valley, offering critical immigration resources.

Fighting for Mountain View

In 2020, I worked with the County of Santa Clara: Office of the Census where I worked with local community partners, like the Day Worker Center, to ensure that our most overlooked residents, like those who are unhoused or living in RVs, get counted so that our cities could receive funding that would benefit the entire community. As vaccines began to roll out in 2021, I conducted outreach in vulnerable neighborhoods throughout the county, registering residents for their COVID-19 vaccines. Soon after, I joined the Community Service Agency of Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills, were not only did I lead the COVID-19 Positive Relief Team efforts bring essential services - food, sanitation materials, and rental support- to residents who had tested positive for COVID, but also lead phonebank efforts contacting local property owners and landlords to apply to rental assistance program that would have protected tenants from being evicted. As a resident and Commissioner with the Mountain View Human Relations Commission, I am working towards creating a stronger, more inclusive community. By building on my experiences and continuing to advocate for equitable policies, I aim to make Mountain view a place where we all thrive. Feel free to contact me or join our campaign to make this vision a reality.
